    Uganda Pearl of Africa


    Uganda is a country in East Africa. It is bordered on the east by Kenya, the north by Sudan, on the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the southwest by Rwanda, and on the south by Tanzania. Uganda lies astride of the equator in East Africa and is known as ‘The Pearl of Africa’ due its snow capped mountains. Uganda offers natural beauty and rich tribes and cultures.
    Uganda has a variety of cultures, including over 30 different indigenous languages and five different linguistic groups. Inhabitants of Uganda consist of the Batwa and Bambuti Pygmies tribes, showcasing guests their unique music art and handcrafts. Popular sites within Uganda include the UNESCO World Heritage Sites; Nyero Rock Shelter, Kasubi tombs, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the newly discovered homes of early mankind in Karamoja.
    Uganda is home to the second largest lake in the world, Lake Victoria, which forms the source of the Nile and is the second largest river in the world.
    Uganda Game Viewing, Activities and Attractions

    Uganda offers a wide variety of activities for guests to enjoy. Eco-tourism is a main focus within Uganda, concentrating on the natural and cultural attractions, as well as empowering the local communities. Guests can look forward to visiting the local communities and learning about their customs and religion.
    Ten National Park’s can be found within Uganda, showcasing flora and fauna, including unique species of bird, wild animals, butterflies, aquatic life and vegetation
    For the more adventurous guest, experience horses riding along Kampala Gardens, Lubowa and Jinja or go for rafting, canoeing, boat riding and bunjee jumping.
    Visit Lake Bunyonyi, known as “Place of many little birds”. The lake lies in the south western Uganda and is safe for swimming and water sports.
    The unique Nyero Rock paintings in Uganda is a must see for guests visiting the area. The rock paintings consist of a three-tiered rock shelter with paintings on the inner surfaces of the rocks. The rock paintings are known to date back to later than the Iron Age.
    How to Get there

Guests can book their flights with the following airlines: KLM/ Amsterdam, Brussels Airlines, British Airways, Emirates, South African Airways, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airways and Qatar Airways. Scheduled flights operate daily and once visitors arrive, Sun Safaris will arrange their onward journey either by road or air by means of private services, scheduled services or self-drive options.
